About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking experienced Registered Nurses – Scrub/Scout to join our Perioperative team.
This role is based in our state-of-the-art theatres at Pimlico, where we are particularly looking for nurses with orthopaedic and general scrub/scout experience.

The Perioperative Services department at
Mater Private Hospital Townsville
(MPHT) provides surgical services across 16 theatres and caters for adults and pediatrics with a variety of surgical specialties.
MPHT boasts brand new state of the art theatre facilities, a catheterization laboratory, separate onsite day site surgery facilities as well as newly implemented robotic surgery involving the da Vinci Surgical System.
Salary range: $***** - $*****per hour
plus superannuation
and

What you'll be doing
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards you will be responsible for:
Facilitating the surgeon within the theatre setting, supporting and collaborating with the theatre team to provide excellent patient centred care
Preparation of the operating theatre and preparing patients for surgery ensuring all documentation is completed.
Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
About you




To be successful in this role you will possess:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital perioperative setting
At least 2 years' recent Scrub/Scout experience
Relevant postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded although not essential
Ability to work in an ever-changing and quick paced environment
A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
