About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville are currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our
Medical Ward
.
We offer excellent flexibility, with opportunities ranging from
Permanent Part time (0.6 FTE) through to Full-Time
employment available.

To be considered for this opportunity, this role requires participation in a 24/7 rotating roster including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
The Medical Unit offers a variety of opportunities to care for patients that have specialised care needs across 46 beds.
This includes 20 acute care telemetry beds, oncology, hematology, high flow respiratory and general medicine.
The Medical Unit is a supportive team of Nurses, Doctors and Allied Health staff who together care for patients, carers and family whilst they are at Mater hospital.
Salary range: $***** - $***** per hour
plus superannuation
and
access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900
+

What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, our Registered Nurses make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Mater.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
Delivering and evaluating evidence‐based nursing care within your scope of practice
Advocating for patients through education, informed consent, and shared decision‐making
Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures,
Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups,
Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices,
Complies with organisational policies, procedures,
work instructions and guidelines,
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
Minimum of 1 post grad experience working within an acute medical setting
Visa sponsorship may be considered for exceptional international applicants with demonstrated extensive experience in critical care on a medical ward.
Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including nights and weekends
High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
The ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment
Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate patient care and competency in clinical problem solving
Available to work across all shifts
Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications and the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment data
