This is a longstanding and supportive team with some staff holding 20 years of experience within the program.The Youth Crisis Accommodation program provides young people aged 16 to 25 experiencing homelessness with access to support for a 3-month duration.Our ideal candidate will possess a strong client-centred practice framework, have sound knowledge of local services and resources, and experience conducting intake assessments and delivering case management.What's on offer?
Permanent part time employment located in MaroochydoreMinimum 52hours per fortnight - see roster details below$92,286per annum pro rata + superannuation – IFYS is committed to gender pay equityPart-time hourly equivalent $*****+ applicable penalty ratesExcellent not-for-profit salary packaging options (package up to $15,900 FBT year)Paid in-house training opportunities including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Preventing Child Sexual Exploitation and Sanctuary Model trainingAnnual $250 personal well being reimbursement benefit towards eligible activitiesFree access to the CALM Premium App + Flight Centre personal travel discountsAccess to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Key responsibilitiesEngage with young people and ensure a safe and therapeutic environmentConduct intake and initial assessments with young people requesting accommodation and support in alignment with guidelinesCreate individualised support plans with young people to meet their needs and goalsAssist young people to develop new living skills and participate in the community of their choiceEnsure the maintenance and cleanliness of all aspects of the shelter to a high standardCompleting a range of administrative tasks in a timely mannerRequirements for the roleExperience working with people exhibiting challenging behaviours and complex needs or an understanding of the impacts of trauma on a young person's lifeA go-getter attitude with the ability to adapt to changing situations and remain calm in the face of a crisisExcellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly, especially with young peopleFlexibility with hours of work and available nights and weekends over a rotating rosterQualifications in or currently studying Youth work, Mental Health, Community Services, Human Services or Social Work highly desirableMust hold or be willing to obtain if successfulValid Queensland driver's license with no restrictionsQLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2)National Crime Check (A new check will be completed through IFYS systems)Ability to provide two recent line manager references (including your current employer)We are an inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity and difference in our communities.
