About the role
Join our nationally recognised
National Tunnels & Tunnel Systems team
as a
Tunnels Engineer
and work alongside some of the industry's most respected specialists.
With a deep bench of expertise spanning over 150 years combined experience, this is a team where you'll keep learning, expand your capability, and build a standout career in underground engineering.
This is a role for someone who thrives on technically challenging work and wants exposure to
end-to-end project delivery
- from investigations and design through to construction support -on projects that genuinely shape communities.
What you'll do
Deliver high-quality technical input across tunnels and underground projects, including complex problem solving
Contribute to investigations, analysis and design for mined and roadheader tunnelling projects
Apply advanced engineering methods to interpret data and inform practical, buildable solutions
Prepare and review technical reports, design documentation and client deliverables
Support project delivery across multiple sectors including transport, mining, water and energy
Build strong client relationships and contribute to bids,
proposals and business development
Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project outcomes
Stay at the forefront of industry developments, innovation and emerging technologies
About you
At least 5 years' experience in tunnels and/or underground engineering
Hands-on experience in
mined and/or roadheader tunnelling
projects advantageous
Strong background in site investigations, data interpretation and technical reporting
Experience contributing to underground design within a consultancy or contractor environment
Proven ability to work across multiple projects and manage competing priorities
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or similar)
Postgraduate qualifications in tunnelling or underground engineering (advantageous)
A collaborative mindset, robust communication skills, and a genuine passion for underground engineering
