Our Projects team is searching for a Senior Project Engineer for secondment to a key client office based in Perth.
This SPE appointment will bring extensive experience in Offshore and/or Subsea environments
In this role, some of the following duties you will undertake but not limited to:
Assist the project to meet its safety targets and advise safety improvements
Coordinate/Communicate with other disciplines, Contractor, and Client
Assist and support project managers and directors to manage all aspects of projects from design to implementation and handover
Review critical Contractor's deliverables as required and ensure all Contractor's engineering and design work performed
Meets contractual obligations, quality, cost, and schedule requirements
Ensure all Contractor's design work is safe and carried out in a safe manner
Ensure all Contractor's design work conforms to the codes and standards used by the Client or to agreed industry
Standards and complies with all local codes and regulations
If required, perform designing/engineering work/delivery as part of the team
Coordinate with SME's to develop/finalize design specifications to meet their project needs with the ability to interpret Client specifications
Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the agreed projects' Quality Assurance system
Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and advise Client, and ask for assistance when required
If required, assist, support and help develop junior personnel within the team
If required, provide support during fabrication, site construction, and commissioning activities
As required, attend factory and site acceptance testing (FAT and SAT)
Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in Project Management
Review overall quality of the project (budget, schedule, plans, personnel's performance) and report regularly on project status
Review the various inputs to the overall Project Plan and identify dependencies, issues, and inconsistencies
Suggest schedule changes where required
Cooperate and communicate with Engineering disciplines and other Project Stakeholders to provide assistance and technical support, as and when required
Review deliverables submitted by Contractor and advised appropriate comments and improvement actions
Conduct regular meetings with Client and Contractor as well as key stakeholders to identify and resolve issues
Assist in the selection of suitable vendors and subcontractors
Identify risks and ensure the risk register is established, monitor the same and suggest risk mitigation plans
Monitor project budget and share feedback to Client, whenever required
Assist the project controls team in management of changes
Prepare meeting minutes, progress reports and presentations and deliver presentations
Track performance and analyses the completion of key goals and advise on critical issues that may cause delays
Document and report project progress to stakeholders and clients
Monitor adherence to performance standards, specifications, QA/QC rules, and related regulations and processes
Establish systems to collect data and measure the project's metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Oversee project performance, budgets, risks, and resource optimisation to achieve or exceed business targets.
Organize techniques for conducting field tests and for assessing their quality
Qualifications
As minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (any discipline)
8-12 years relevant experience
Extensive experience in project managing subsea / deepwater oil and gas projects and/or offshore drilling / well management.
Experience with well abandonment projects desirable but not mandatory.
Experience in an Australian regulatory workplace desireable.
Ability to hold offshore survival certificates and Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
Work in office and Site based environments
Excellent interpersonal and analytical attributes
Able to effectively communicate technical issues to peers and line manager and hold presentations to project management and Clients (written and verbal)
Capability of collating, verifying and handling project information and producing instructions
Strong knowledge and communication skills in project execution and management.
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders across functions such as project controls and in technical areas.
Strong analytical mindset for interpreting engineering, procurement, construction and planning information
Strong knowledge of contract administration
Good knowledge of how to handle risks and mitigation measures across multi functions
Excellent interpersonal and analytical attributes
Ownership of responsibility for work
Able to effectively communicate commercial issues to peers and line manager and hold presentations to project management and Clients (written and verbal)
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
