About the client
Our client is a highly innovative mental health organisation.

About the role
The Mental Health Community Support Worker will undertake activities as directed by the Manager of Mental Health Services in a manner which is supportive of the objectives of the agreed support plan.
The position is part time for up to 6 months initially and will involve providing direct care and support services to a participant residing in their own home with multiple complex needs, in accordance with an agreed support plan.
The role will also involve overnight stays which is a requirement of the position.
Job Responsibilities
Demonstrates skills and knowledge working with people experiencing mental illness
Provides assistance to the people within the community
Supports the objectives of the organisation as planned
Suggests and implements programs that would support the organisation's goals

Qualifications
Job Qualifications
Current Working with Children Check Card or willingness to obtain
Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain
Current Drivers License with no restrictions and reliable motor vehicle
Current Senior First Aid/Provide First Aid Certificate.
A genuine commitment to the community services industry
Relevant experience in mental health or community support
With proven capacity to deal with challenging issues
Highly developed innovative and creative thinking abilities, problem solving abilities, compassion, empathy and professionalism
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Has ability to work independently and in a team
Willing to undertake training to fill skill gaps if required
Willing to work in Taylors Lakes
