About the Role
As an Intake Operator, you'll be responsible for coordinating the receival and movement of grains and meals across the site via both road and rail. This hands-on role combines operational, quality and inventory responsibilities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receiving and processing raw material deliveries by truck and rail.
- Coordinating rail interface activities, including approximately 2-3 train receivals per week.
- Sampling, testing, and assessing incoming grains and meals.
- Monitoring and measuring storage bins and inventory levels.
- Managing grain transfers and silo allocations.
- Operating and monitoring SCADA and PLC-controlled systems.
- Processing receival and inventory transactions through SAP.
- Maintaining accurate records and spreadsheets.
- Working closely with Operations, Quality, Logistics and Maintenance teams.
- Supporting site safety, housekeeping, and food safety standards.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and has a robust focus on safety, quality, and accuracy.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience in manufacturing, grain handling, agriculture, warehousing, or logistics.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence using computer systems, including SAP and Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to follow processes and work independently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.
- A current Forklift Licence (highly regarded).
- Completed Rail Interface Training or willing to complete
