Our client is an expanding mining company with operating mines and development projects.
We seek a Financial Accountant to work closely with the Financial Controller on a range of projects including responding to requests for information from group internal audit and the external auditors, assisting with month end, statutory accounts and ad hoc requests for information and assistance.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Collect data, prepare reporting, undertake reconciliations
- Coordinate internal and external audits (interim, year-end, shareholder)
- Assist with month-end processes and reporting
- Drive process improvements and finance transformation initiatives
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with CA / CPA qualification
- Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred
- Experience in financial accounting and reporting
- Ideally exposure to multi-entity or multinational environments
- Knowledge of Australian accounting standards (international exposure desirable)
- Advanced Excel and strong systems capability
- Proactive, commercially minded and detail-oriented
- Good attitude
This is a 3-6 month contract with the prospect to become permanent.
