Your new role – Community Engagement Officer
Are you organised, great with people and passionate about community engagement?
As our Community Engagement Officer,
you’ll work closely with Council’s Infrastructure Services team to support the delivery of important capital works and infrastructure projects across the Central Coast.
You’ll build relationships with residents, businesses and stakeholders, plan and coordinate community engagement, and help make sure people receive clear and timely information about projects that affect them. You’ll also support Council’s broader communications, including website and social media content.
This is a great chance for someone who enjoys working with people, can juggle competing priorities and wants to play a practical role in projects that make a difference in the community.
What we’re looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications and Engagement, Economics, Tourism, Management, or a similar discipline.
- Proven experience in communication, stakeholder engagement, or related roles.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, branding principles, and marketing strategies.
- Previous similar work with infrastructure service teams and projects.
Salary and conditions:
- Fixed-term Part-time position for 12 months (3 days per week/45 hours per fortnight).
- Role commences on the week of 7 December 2026.
- You must be able to work on Fridays; you will have a choice of the other 2 days you work.
- Central Coast Council’s Enterprise Agreement – Professional Level 2 ($52.27 per hour).
