About the role

The Business Administrator sits within the Creative Melbourne branch and provides high-quality business administration, financial and building operations support across the branch.

This role supports a range of Creative Melbourne teams and programs, including Arts House, ArtPlay, SIGNAL, YIRRAMBOI and Place Activation. You will play an important role in ensuring effective administrative, financial and operational systems are in place to support the successful delivery of Creative Melbourne’s programs and services.

Working in a diverse and fast-paced setting, you will provide practical day-to-day support while contributing to continuous improvement, strong financial management and high-quality service delivery.

A little more about the role

- Provide high-quality business administration and finance support, including advice and assistance to teams across Creative Melbourne.

- Develop, implement and maintain effective administrative systems, processes and procedures, with a focus on continuous improvement.

- Coordinate key operational activities including EOI processes, artist visa and tax variation applications, financial reporting and audit support.

- Support building operations at Arts House, including contractor management, maintenance coordination and tenant administration.

About you

You are an organised and proactive administrator who enjoys working across a varied portfolio and supporting multiple teams. You are comfortable balancing competing priorities, building robust relationships and providing reliable advice and support in a busy environment.

What your experience might look like

- Experience providing finance, administration and business support within a fast-paced, high-volume and multifaceted environment.

- Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across an organisation.

- Excellent administrative skills, including managing records, schedules, documentation and processes in line with established requirements.

- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining systems and processes that improve efficiency and support continuous improvement.

- Proficiency across a range of software systems used for finance, grants administration, reporting, analysis and presentations.
