About This Position
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing, the Coordinator, Marketing supports the delivery of marketing and communications activity across Melbourne Convention Bureau’s digital channels, campaigns and events.
This is a hands on role where you’ll help bring MCB’s marketing activity to life across social media, EDMs, paid digital channels and events. From coordinating content and managing digital activity through to supporting campaign reporting, marketing administration and event content capture, you’ll play an key part in delivering consistent and engaging communications to our audiences.
Working closely with the broader Marketing team and internal and external partners, you’ll support the day to day delivery of activity that promotes Melbourne and Victoria as a leading global business events destination.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Implement and execute both BAU and campaign activity across owned channels, including social media and EDMs
- Execute the social content calendar, including scheduling, publishing, and community management
- Undertake occasional content creation and content capture at owned events, famils, and similar activities
- Execute paid advertising and paid digital activity in line with the overall media plan
- Support digital marketing activity, including assisting with campaign tagging, reporting and platform administration
- Assist with copywriting and editing of consumer and corporate digital communications content
- Support maintenance of SEO and SEM effectiveness across all markets, working with the Marketing Manager on optimisation priorities.
- Order and manage stock of branded merchandise and corporate gifts
- Provide finance and team administration support (e.g. invoicing, purchase orders, budget tracking support etc.)
- Support measurement of digital marketing performance using web analytics tools, feeding insights back to the Marketing Manager
- Assist with the development and executing of digital event attendee support systems
- Maintain relationships with media publications, suppliers and vendors as directed
- Support the Graphic & Experience Designer and wider team with asset requests and content needs as required
About You
You are an organised and digitally minded marketing professional who enjoys working across campaigns, content and channels. You bring strong attention to detail, a collaborative approach and the ability to manage competing priorities, with confidence working across social media and digital marketing platforms.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a marketing, digital marketing or marketing coordinator role, ideally within tourism, events or a related industry.
- Experience managing professional social media channels and content calendars.
- Experience using email marketing platforms and content management systems.
- A sound understanding of social media platforms, scheduling tools and community management.
- Working knowledge of paid digital advertising platforms such as Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads.
- Strong copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and channels.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and confidence working with internal stakeholders, agencies, suppliers and external partners.
