About the role

Urban Reach Building Group is seeking experienced Abseil Painters to join our dynamic team on an initial contract basis with the option to be full-time thereafter. This is a specialist role that combines technical painting expertise with the ability to work safely at height using abseil and rope access techniques. You will be working on high-rise building facades, structural elements, and other elevated surfaces that require precision, skill, and a commitment to safety. Based in Varsity Lakes, QLD 4227, this role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects across the construction and building services sector.

Key responsibilities

- Execute professional painting work on building facades, elevated structures, and high-rise projects using abseil and rope access techniques

- Concrete Spalling & Concrete Crack Repairs to high rise structures.

- Prepare surfaces appropriately, including cleaning, sanding, priming, and protective coating application on external and internal elevated surfaces

- Apply various paint finishes, coatings, and sealants to specifications, ensuring quality workmanship and durability

- Operate and maintain abseil equipment, harnesses, and rope access systems in accordance with safety standards and regulations

- Conduct pre-work safety checks and adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols and work at height regulations

- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications

- Communicate effectively with site supervisors, team members,



and project managers regarding progress and any safety concerns

- Maintain a clean and organised work area, managing waste and materials responsibly

- Work collaboratively with other trades and professionals on multi-disciplinary construction sites

What we're looking for

- Current and valid Working at Height or Rope Access qualifications (IRATA, NZARAT, or equivalent certification preferred)

- Proven experience as a painter with demonstrated expertise in abseil or rope access painting work

- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation methods, and various paint systems and coatings

- Competency in abseiling, rope work, and safe use of harnesses and personal protective equipment (PPE)

- Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to working at height and construction environments

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality finishes

- Physical fitness and ability to work safely on elevated surfaces for extended periods

- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team

- Reliability and a professional approach to timekeeping and project deadlines

- Current drivers licence is advantageous for site access and mobility
