Role Overview
- Title: ICT Support Technician

- Employment Type: Permanent Full-time
- Salary Range: $78,000 – $85,000 per annum
- Working Hours: 38 hours per week (76 hours per fortnight)

About the role
This role is responsible for deploying, maintaining and optimizing localized computer infrastructure and network systems to ensure seamless business continuity. It involves serving as a key point of technical contact, diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software challenges and driving proactive troubleshooting. The ICT Support Technician is pivotal in cross-collaboration with internal departments, external vendors and end-users to maintain high operational efficiency. This hands-on role has responsibility across local site infrastructure and requires close coordination with broader regional IT operations to align technical standards and support systems.
Key responsibilities
- Installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware, peripherals and related equipment.
- Utilising imaging and deployment tools such as MDT, SCCM, Ghost, Acronis, Windows Deployment Services, PowerShell and macOS deployment utilities to prepare and configure devices.
- Ensuring devices were ready for deployment by installing operating systems, applications, drivers and updates.
- Performing secure data backup, restore, migration and decommissioning activities using tools such as Veeam, Acronis,
Carbonite, DBAN, Blancco and KillDisk.
- Setting up end-user workstations including monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, printers and network connectivity.
- Disconnecting and reconnecting PC-based IT equipment during relocations and upgrades.
- Providing technical assistance and troubleshooting support to end users for hardware and software issues using tools such as TeamViewer, AnyDesk, Remote Desktop, VNC and diagnostic utilities.
- Logging, tracking, and resolving incidents and service requests using ServiceNow, Jira Service Management and other ITSM platforms, including CMDB updates.
- Performing network connectivity testing using tools such as Fluke Network Tester, CableIQ, and Wireshark.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and asset records using Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, Confluence, Lansweeper and Spiceworks.
About you
- Minimum 2-3+ years of relevant experience.
- Minimum Diploma or Higher level Relevant Qualification.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Confident knowledge of the PC hardware, software and various OS.
- Responsible attitude to assigned tasks and attentiveness.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with IT Asset Management Systems.
- Experience in a self-driven role within a technology-focused organization.
- Knowledge of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, etc.)
