About the role
You will manufacture industrial and hydraulic hose assemblies to customer requirements, provide responsive customer service and help keep daily branch operations running smoothly.
You’ll need to be confident selecting hoses and fittings, identifying thread forms, operating crimping equipment and producing safe, accurate hose assemblies with limited supervision.
When the Operations Manager is away, you may also assist with coordinating daily workflow, prioritising urgent customer orders and escalating operational issues to the nominated manager.
What you’ll do
- Manufacture industrial and hydraulic hose assemblies
- Select the correct hoses, fittings and components
- Identify fittings and thread forms
- Measure, cut, prepare and crimp hoses accurately
- Read and interpret product specifications and hydraulic schematics
- Test hose assemblies as required
- Complete job records and prepare orders for dispatch
- Assist customers with product and order enquiries
- Pick, pack, receive and dispatch stock
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop
- Support and guide less experienced team members
During periods when the Operations Manager is absent, you may also:
- Coordinate daily workshop priorities
- Monitor urgent customer and production requirements
- Help allocate routine work across the team
- Communicate operational, safety and stock issues
- Escalate significant matters to the nominated manager
- Help ensure routine opening, closing and branch processes are completed
What we’re looking for
- At least one year of hose assembly experience
- Demonstrated ability to manufacture hose assemblies safely and accurately
- Experience using crimpers, pressure testers and measuring equipment
- Ability to identify hose fittings and thread forms
- Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to organise competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Confidence working independently and supporting other team members
- Basic computer and data-entry skills
- Current driver’s licence
Experience with PRONTO or another ERP system would be helpful.
A forklift licence and MR truck licence would be advantageous.
