Description
The Centre for Women & Co. is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Finance team at our Springwood HQ. Working closely with the Finance Manager and broader Finance team, the Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, completing end-of-period accounting processes and preparing reliable financial information for the organisation.
The role will complete journals, accruals, reconciliations and payroll-related finance entries, as well as prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting packs. The Accountant will also assist with taxation and regulatory lodgements, external audit requirements and the continued development of effective internal controls and finance processes.

Salary and Benefits
- SCHADS Level 5.1 | Part-time permanent
- Salary Packaging up to $15,900 (superannuation can be paid in addition to this, subject to any ATO limit if any).

** Selection Criteria:**
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Commerce from a recognised university, together with relevant skilled experience.
- CA or CPA qualification.
- A minimum of two years’ demonstrated experience in an accounting role, including detailed end-of-period accounting processes and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and relevant taxation and regulatory obligations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate, complete and audit-ready financial records.
- Advanced Excel skills and competence using Microsoft programs, including SharePoint and Teams.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet required deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to respond professionally to finance and payroll-related queries.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a supportive Finance team.
- Experience in management reporting, funding acquittals or finance operations within a not-for-profit or community services environment will be highly regarded.
Note: it is a requirement of the role that the successful applicant holds a current Working with Children Blue Card and Police Check for the duration of employment. A current Queensland Driver’s Licence is required where travel between sites or attendance at external meetings is necessary.
