About the role

Neptune Pools Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Pool Steelfixer to join our team in Melbourne, VIC. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work on diverse pool construction projects across the Melbourne region. As a Pool Steelfixer, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication, preparation, and installation of steel reinforcement structures that form the backbone of our pool construction projects. This position is essential to ensuring the structural integrity and quality of every pool we build, making it a vital part of our construction team.

Key responsibilities

- Install formwork structure and drainage base prior to steel reinforcement

- Fabricate and prepare steel reinforcement according to engineering specifications and project requirements

- Install and position steel reinforcement within pool structures, ensuring accurate placement and alignment

- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

- Conduct quality checks on steel work to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations

- Collaborate with construction teams, including concreters, plumbers and other tradespeople, to ensure seamless project execution

- Maintain and operate steel working equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner

- Strip formwork on completion of stage

- Ensure all work sites remain clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements

- Transport and handle steel materials safely and responsibly

- General laboring to complete that stage of the work

What we're looking for





- Proven experience as a Steelfixer, preferably within the pool construction or civil engineering industry

- Strong knowledge of steel reinforcement practices, techniques, and industry standards

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately

- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and steelfixing equipment

- Excellent understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and practices

- Physical fitness and the ability to work in outdoor conditions, often at heights or in challenging environments

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship

- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the Melbourne region

- Current or willingness to obtain relevant qualifications such as White Card (general construction induction)
