$40-$50 Per Hour, Based on Experience

Location: Tyagarah, NSW (Byron Bay Region)

Byron Bay Van Fitouts is hiring for two separate positions within our growing campervan and motorhome fit-out team:

ROLE 1 - TECHNICIAN / AUTO ELECTRICIAN / PLUMBER / MECHANIC

ROLE 2 - CABINETMAKER / CARPENTER

You do not need to have both skill sets. Please apply for the role that matches your experience.

We build premium custom campervans and motorhomes and are looking for practical, reliable people who can work independently, solve day-to-day problems and take pride in delivering high-quality work. You will work alongside our project leaders and workshop team, contributing to custom builds from installation through to completion.

ROLE 2 - TECHNICIAN / AUTO ELECTRICIAN / PLUMBER / MECHANIC

Key responsibilities:

- Install 12V electrical systems, solar, inverters, batteries and related equipment

- Perform or assist with 240V work only where appropriately qualified and licensed

- Install plumbing systems, including water tanks, pumps, pipework and fittings

- Install appliances and fixtures such as fridges, induction cooktops and water heaters

- Complete mechanical and general technical fit-out tasks

- Diagnose problems and develop practical, safe solutions

- Test systems and maintain high standards of quality and safety

Essential skills and experience:

- Experience as a technician, auto electrician, plumber, mechanic or similar trade

- Sound understanding of electrical, plumbing or mechanical systems relevant to campervan builds

- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability

- Ability to work independently and within a team

- High attention to detail and a solid work ethic

- Valid driver's licence and White card

ROLE 2 - CABINETMAKER / CARPENTER

Key responsibilities:





- Build and install premium cabinetry and campervan fit-out components

- Interpret and work from technical drawings, plans and measurements

- Complete accurate cutting, assembly, installation and finishing work

- Maintain quality control across each stage of the build

- Coordinate materials and hardware with the workshop team

- Solve practical installation challenges in compact spaces

- Contribute to an organised, safe and efficient workshop

Essential skills and experience:

- Only certified cabinet makers.

-Professional cabinetmaking, joinery or carpentry experience

- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

- Confidence using workshop machinery, power tools and hand tools

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Valid driver's licence and White card

HIGHLY DESIRABLE FOR EITHER ROLE

- Campervan, caravan, motorhome, marine, tiny-home or custom-manufacturing experience

- Experience taking custom projects from concept through to completion

- Confidence communicating with clients, suppliers and other trades

- ONLY LONG TERM RESIDENTS.
