Wellbeing Specialist Teacher (ELC - Year 6)

We are a vibrant learning community where girls are encouraged to inquire, think critically, build meaningful relationships, and flourish academically and personally.An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Wellbeing Specialist Teacher (ELC - Year 6) to join our Junior School. This is a key teacher-leader role responsible for driving a contemporary, evidence-informed approach to student wellbeing and supporting the ongoing development of a positive, inclusive and restorative wellbeing culture.Working closely with students, teachers, families and school leaders, you will provide expertise in wellbeing education, partner with staff to build capability, and contribute to the development and delivery of innovative wellbeing programs that support the growth and success of every student.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Junior School, the Wellbeing Specialist Teacher will:

- Lead and champion student wellbeing initiatives across ELC to Year 6.

- Partner with teachers to design, implement and evaluate high-quality wellbeing programs and learning experiences.

- Provide coaching, modelling, co-teaching and professional learning to build staff capability in wellbeing practices.

- Work collaboratively with Tara's psychologist,



Head of Diverse Learning and leadership team to support individual students through a coordinated case-management approach.

- Support students through individual and small-group interventions using Tara's restorative approach.

- Develop strong partnerships with families to promote student wellbeing, engagement and success.

- Contribute to strategic wellbeing priorities and provide leadership support within the Junior School.

About You

You are an experienced educator and wellbeing leader who is passionate about supporting the social, emotional and educational growth of young people. You have a strong understanding of contemporary wellbeing research and best practice and can translate this into impactful programs, initiatives and professional learning. You will bring:

- Relevant teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation.

- Proven experience in student wellbeing, pastoral care or wellbeing leadership within a school setting.

- Demonstrated ability to teach and engage students from ELC to Year 6.

- Strong knowledge of contemporary wellbeing frameworks, restorative practices and evidence-based approaches to student support.

- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families and staff.

- Experience leading initiatives,



influencing practice and building capability across teams.

- An understanding of, or interest in, the International Baccalaureate philosophy and inquiry-based learning.

- A commitment to supporting the Christian mission and values of Tara Anglican School for Girls.
