The Opportunity

This is a newly created role and the first of its kind at NCS. As our Commercial Recoveries & Litigation Specialist, you’ll be the technical authority behind a high-performing commercial recovery team; sharpening file strategy, lifting litigation quality, coaching collectors, and building the playbooks and systems that make great recovery decisions repeatable.

To be clear about the shape of the role: this is not a people management position. Our Operations Manager owns leadership, performance and day-to-day team management, and you’ll report directly to them. Your job is the technical one, you’re the person everyone comes to when a file gets complicated.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on complex, disputed, high-value and litigation sensitive commercial debts.





• Review recovery strategy, legal referral readiness, settlement options and enforcement pathways.

• Prepare and quality check instructions, to external solicitors.

• Work closely with our external legal partners to keep matters commercially focused and moving.

• Coach collectors on litigation, insolvency, evidence, file strategy and technical recovery practice.

• Conduct targeted file audits and turn recurring issues into better processes, checklists and training.

• Maintain and improve NCS’s commercial recoveries and litigation playbooks, templates and precedents.

• Help us use technology and AI intelligently to improve technical consistency and knowledge access.

What We’re Looking For

We’re deliberately open on skilled background. You may be:

• a senior commercial debt recovery professional with strong litigation experience;

• an experienced litigation or debt recovery paralegal / legal executive; or

• an experienced recoveries or commercial litigation professional with a law degree who’s after a specialist in-house technical role rather than a traditional legal practice career.

Whichever path you come from, you’ll need strong practical judgment.



We want someone who can look at a file and tell us what should happen next, why, what it will cost, and what evidence is still missing.
