What you'll do
Arcare is looking for a proactive and resourceful Community Sponsorship Advisor to join us for a focused six-week project.
Working closely with our residence teams, you’ll get out into local communities to identify and assess sponsorship opportunities that can strengthen Arcare’s local presence and create meaningful community connections.
We’re looking beyond traditional sponsorships. Opportunities could include local festivals, sporting clubs, arts and cultural groups, choirs, community associations, events and other grassroots organisations- particularly those with strong connections to older people, their families and the wider community.
Your role is to find the opportunities, assess the fit, make recommendations and facilitate introductions. Our residence teams will then take ownership and nurture those relationships locally over the longer term.
Key Duties:
- Visit Arcare residences and meet with local teams to understand their communities, priorities and existing connections.
- Research local areas and uncover relevant community sponsorship opportunities.
- Identify organisations, groups and events with strong connections to older people, their families and the wider community.
- Speak with potential sponsorship recipients to understand their audience, activities and opportunities.
- Assess potential sponsorships based on community relevance, audience, reach, brand alignment and potential local impact.
- Recommend and prioritise the strongest opportunities for each residence.
- Facilitate introductions between recommended organisations and the relevant Arcare teams.
- Provide our teams with the information and context they need to take the relationship forward.
- Maintain a clear pipeline of opportunities, recommendations, introductions and next steps.
What you bring
You may have experience in sponsorships, community engagement, events, local government, sport, arts and culture, marketing, media or another community-focused role.
More importantly, you’re someone who:
- Enjoys getting out into communities,
meeting people and uncovering opportunities.
- Is curious, resourceful and confident approaching new organisations.
- Can quickly get a feel for a local area and understand what matters to its community.
- Has good judgement and can assess which opportunities are worth pursuing.
- Understands audiences and can recognise opportunities that will resonate with older people and their families.
- Is organised and comfortable managing multiple locations, contacts and opportunities.
- Can work independently while collaborating closely with local teams.
Previous sponsorship experience would be an advantage, but is not essential. Strong transferable experience in community engagement, events, marketing or a related area will also be considered.
There will be up to one work-from-home day per week, with the remainder of your time generally spent at Head Office, at our residences or out in the community.
A current driver’s licence and access to a reliable car are essential. Limited interstate travel may also be required.
The chance
This is a short, focused project where you can make a tangible impact. At the end of six weeks, you’ll leave our residence teams with a prioritised pipeline of relevant community sponsorship opportunities and introductions that they can take forward and nurture over the longer term.
If you’re a natural connector who knows how to uncover what’s happening in a local community and spot a great opportunity, we’d love to hear from you.
