About the Role

Based in Kununurra, WA, this is an exciting chance to join our Supply Chain team as a Seed Production Agronomist, reporting to the Seed Production Lead. You'll play a key role in supporting our Commercial Seed Production team, ensuring seed that meets specified quality and quantity standards is produced on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for helping establish and monitor hectare requirements to meet production targets, providing timely and accurate reporting on estimated yields and harvest dates, and working closely with the Ord Farm Manager to achieve specified variety targets.

From a planting perspective, you will coordinate parent seed delivery and supervise planting operations, conduct machinery inspections to ensure compliance with internal and external assurance requirements, and verify planting timing based on production research and the broader Seed Production Team's experience.

Maintaining genetic purity and plant health is central to this role. You will ensure established genetic purity standards are consistently achieved, train and supervise roguing teams in the removal of off-types, and ensure all plant health and certification inspections are thoroughly documented and recorded in the appropriate database.

During harvest, you will oversee that all harvesters and handling equipment are inspected and seed-free prior to use, and ensure all machinery is maintained in a safe and operable condition at all times in accordance with prescribed procedures.





You will also be responsible for managing day-to-day financial and administrative functions in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining expenses at or below budgeted levels, and contributing actively to the company's Quality Management System by identifying improvements and ensuring processes are understood and followed.

What You'll Need

The ideal candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science or equivalent, or bring demonstrated practical seed production experience to the role. A current "C" Class driver's licence is essential.

You will have a robust foundation in sound farming practices and agronomy, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills that allow you to build solid relationships with both internal stakeholders and external growers. You'll be comfortable working autonomously while also contributing effectively as part of a team, and you'll bring solid time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines. Experience in negotiating win-win outcomes, a commitment to customer service excellence, and competency in Microsoft Office round out the key requirements for this role.
