Children First Walkervale is on the lookout for an experienced Chef to join our team. Our centre is more than just a childcare centre; it is where bonds are formed, little hearts are nurtured, and dreams take root. We are seeking a highly skilled Cook/Chef for our beautiful state of the art service!

This is a permanent position, Monday - Friday only, no weekend or late shifts!

About your new role:

- You will be preparing, cooking and presenting a wide variety of nutritious foods during times that are suitable for children aged 4 months to 5 years for breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, including the preparation of purees and special dietary meals.

- You will engage in menu planning, in accordance with the centre's nutrition policy and guidelines, including catering for children with allergy, intolerance and religious requirements.

- You will be working in line with budgets and local suppliers.

- You will maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements.

About you:

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (preferred but not essential).

- Current food handling/food safety certificate or willingness to obtain.

- Current Blue Card, approved First Aid, National Child Safety (Geccko) Training, Anaphylaxis and Asthma qualifications.

- Experience with menu planning and nutrition.

- Previous experience running a kitchen, cooking in childcare or similar catering setting.

- You will be a reliable,



positive and a well organised person.

- You will have excellent time management skills and be confident in managing a kitchen.

- You will provide a barista service to families (on the job training will be provided if necessary).
