Your Opportunity
n
This is a casual opportunity based at Castle Hill Village, working Monday to Friday, to support planned leave coverage and increased demand during the Christmas period.
n
Responsibilities
n
As a Cafe Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the café, preparing high-quality meals, supporting café functions and ensuring exceptional service delivery. Working closely with the Food and Beverage Manager, you will help create menus, maintain food quality standards and deliver a positive dining experience for customers and residents.

Food Preparation and Service Delivery
n

- Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals, café items and catering orders
n
- Ensure food is prepared and served to a consistently high standard
n
- Support the planning and delivery of café services and functions
n
n
Kitchen Operations and Quality Support
n
n
- Support menu planning and seasonal menu updates
n
- Monitor food quality, storage, preparation and handling procedures
n
- Ensure stock levels are maintained and participate in stocktakes
n
- Maintain efficient kitchen operations and workflow processes
n
n
Customer Experience
n
n
- Deliver excellent customer service to residents, visitors and guests
n
- Assist in promoting café services and supporting customer satisfaction initiatives
n
n
Collaboration and Team Support
n
n
- Lead by example and contribute to a positive team culture
n
- Work collaboratively with kitchen, hospitality and village teams
n
n
Safety and Compliance
n
n
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards in line with HACCP requirements
n
- Follow workplace health and safety policies and procedures and report hazards
n
- Ensure equipment, workstations and food preparation areas are maintained safely and professionally
n
n
What You'll Bring
n
You are a passionate and customer-focused Chef who enjoys creating quality food and delivering memorable dining experiences.
n
What's Required
n
n
- Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent qualification
n
- 2-3 years' experience within hospitality, catering or food service environments
n
- 2-3 years' of experience in food preparation, kitchen operations and menu planning skills
n
- Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certification.
n
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements
n
- Robust English literacy both spoken and written
n
n

- RSA, willingness to obtain
n
- Experience working within aged care, retirement living, healthcare or community settings
n
- Experience with ordering, stock control and food cost management
n
- Microsoft Office skills and general computer literacy
n
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
