We’re a well-respected not-for-profit that’s been serving society’s most vulnerable for 170 years. Each year, we achieve life-changing outcomes for the 40,000+ people who rely on our person-centered support.

As a Registered Nurse, your contributions will make a meaningful difference in so many lives, in so many ways. In return for your dedication and care, you will find rewarding career opportunities, genuine support, and the balance you need to thrive in all areas of your life.

Your opportunity

As a Registered Nurse at Anglicare Sydney, you will provide protected, compassionate clinical care for residents with diverse and complex needs. You will work closely with residents, families and the multidisciplinary team to identify changes early and support each resident’s quality of life

With empathy and resilience, you will:

- Assess residents and develop, implement and review individual care plans

- Administer medications and maintain accurate clinical documentation

- Recognise and escalate resident deterioration, incidents and near misses

- Apply infection prevention and control practices, including outbreak precautions

- Support care team members to deliver safe, person-centered care

What you’ll bring

You’re an empathetic, respectful and resilient person who genuinely seeks to promote the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of older people.

You share our organisational values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence, and embed them in everything you do.

What’s required:

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA

- Bachelor of Nursing or an equivalent recognised qualification

- NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance

- Sound knowledge of nursing principles, safe resident care and clinical escalation

- Clear written and verbal communication skills

Clinical knowledge

You understand how to recognise and respond to changes in a resident’s condition, including reduced oral intake, dehydration, weight loss, confusion or delirium, falls risk, reduced mobility, skin concerns and pressure injury risk.

You also understand the importance of monitoring and preventing issues included in the National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program, such as falls, pressure injuries, unplanned weight loss, medication-related harm, infections, restrictive practices and changes in resident wellbeing.

Experience and development

Aged care or other relevant clinical experience is valued but not essential. We welcome nurses who bring a fresh perspective, a willingness to learn and a positive approach.

You will be supported to build your knowledge and confidence within residential aged care.
