The Venue
Set in a beautiful North Queensland coastal location overlooking the water, this well-established hotel is a genuine local favourite and a popular destination for visitors.
Operating seven days a week, the venue offers a diverse hospitality operation encompassing a busy bar, bistro, gaming room, bottle shop, TAB, Keno and regular live entertainment.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a manager who enjoys being visible on the floor, building a strong team culture and taking ownership of all aspects of venue performance.

The Chance
As Hotel Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day operations, people leadership and commercial performance of the venue.
You'll be equally comfortable leading from the front on a busy service, supporting your team on the floor and managing the operational and financial responsibilities behind the scenes.
Your role will be pivotal in maintaining strong standards across the hotel while continuing to develop the team, maximise performance and deliver an outstanding experience for both locals and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel
- Lead, recruit, train, mentor and manage a diverse hospitality team
- Develop effective staff rosters and manage timesheets and wage costs
- Oversee bar, bistro, bottle shop and gaming operations
- Manage gaming, TAB and Keno requirements and compliance
- Monitor stock levels, purchasing, ordering and cost control
- Oversee daily cash handling, till balancing and banking
- Manage administration, reporting and operational requirements
- Maintain consistently high standards of service, presentation and compliance
- Drive team engagement, accountability and performance
- Build solid relationships with staff, suppliers, customers and the local community
- Take a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to improve venue performance
About You
We're looking for an experienced Hotel or Venue Manager who understands what it takes to successfully operate a busy, multi-faceted hospitality venue.
You'll bring strong commercial awareness, excellent people-management skills and a hands-on approach to leadership.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience managing a busy hotel, pub or tavern
- Strong experience across food & beverage,
gaming and retail operations
- Proven experience recruiting, leading, training and developing hospitality teams
- Strong financial and operational management skills
- Experience with rostering, wage management and stock control
- A sound understanding of gaming and venue compliance
- Excellent organisational and administration skills
- A confident, approachable and hands-on leadership style
- The ability to remain calm, organised and solutions-focused in a busy environment
- A genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- A current QLD RMLV and Approved Manager's Licence, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
