Retail Assistant Couple – Remote Coastal Northern Territory

Bring your retail experience, strong customer service skills, and hands-on work ethic to a welcoming remote coastal community in the Northern Territory. We are seeking a reliable and motivated couple who can confidently assist customers, manage stock, maintain high presentation standards, and thrive in a small team workplace. A minimum six-month commitment is essential, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to remote living.

Located in a friendly coastal township, you'll enjoy access to local stores, supermarkets, takeaway options, sporting facilities, a swimming pool, and essential community services, while experiencing a unique part of the Northern Territory.

Immediate Start

Pay Information: (Retail Award-Level 1)

- $34.76 per hour Monday-Friday + Penalty Rates
- Free shared house accommodation
- Electricity contribution of approximately $40 per week
- Travel assistance provided from Darwin return

The Role

Based within the community's local store, this is a varied and hands-on position that plays an important role in supporting both locals and visitors. The successful couple will be involved in all aspects of day-to-day retail operations and customer service.

Duties Include





- Providing friendly and professional customer service
- Cash handling and point-of-sale operations
- Replenishing shelves, fridges, and freezers
- Unloading cartons and pallets
- Stock rotation and receiving weekly deliveries
- Merchandising and display presentation
- General store cleaning and maintenance
- Assisting with stocktakes and ordering processes
- Supporting other operational duties as required
- Additional hours may be available assisting with housekeeping within the local motel

Skills & Experience Required

- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or a similar role
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of handling stock and manual tasks
- Forklift licence highly regarded
- Ability to commit to a minimum of six months
- Comfortable living and working in a remote community setting
