Verve Partners is partnering with PPK Mining Equipment to appoint a Chief Financial Officer who brings strong financial leadership, sound commercial judgement and a practical approach to supporting the business’s future direction.

The Role
Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Board, you’ll own PPK Mining Equipment’s financial management, reporting and strategy, while leading finance, accounts payable and payroll.
This hands-on appointment combines strategic input with daily financial oversight. You’ll translate financial performance into clear advice, strengthen cash flow and controls, and provide reliable information to support business decisions.

You’ll also evaluate opportunities, guide investment and funding decisions, and confidently advise and respectfully challenge directors when needed.
Financial Leadership Scope

Your responsibilities will span five key areas:

- Financial control and reporting: Lead budgeting, forecasting and reporting, giving the Board accurate, timely information and clear insights into performance, risks and opportunities.
- Commercial judgement and strategy: Partner with the Executive Director and Board to shape financial strategy, assess business decisions and develop meaningful performance measures.
- Cash flow and capital management: Oversee cash flow, working capital, funding and capital expenditure, balancing operational needs with investment priorities.
- Governance and risk: Maintain financial controls, manage compliance, audits and insurance, and protect company assets.



Oversee external auditor relationships and recommendations.
- Team leadership and systems: Develop the finance team, strengthen accountability and improve systems, processes and reporting while remaining close to daily operations.

About You
You may be an experienced CFO within an SME or a strong Finance Manager ready for your first CFO appointment. You’ll bring broad financial ownership, commercial confidence and the ability to balance strategy with practical delivery.

We’re looking for:

- SME experience and a hands-on approach to financial management
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, analysis and reporting capability
- Clear communication and credibility with directors and operational leaders
- Practical experience managing cash flow, working capital, funding and capital expenditure
- Sound knowledge of governance, compliance, audit and risk management
- A supportive leadership style and composure under pressure
- Confidence using financial management software and improving systems and processes
- Mining, manufacturing or OEM experience will be highly regarded, alongside a genuine interest in these industries. Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance or accounting are essential.
