This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong commercial awareness, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to confidently manage tenders from initial review through to project handover.
About the Role:
As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates while working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and analysing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Identifying project risks and understanding the commercial implications of tender documentation.
- Estimating material, fixture and labour requirements for electrical projects.
- Preparing accurate project costings and assessing overall project profitability.
- Developing commercially viable solutions to improve margins and project outcomes.
- Preparing and submitting competitive tenders within required timeframes.
- Maintaining and updating material and labour cost databases.
- Assessing whether works are best completed internally or subcontracted.
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and quotations.
- Building relationships with clients regarding current and upcoming project opportunities.
- Completing detailed handovers to Project Managers following successful tenders.
- Ensuring estimating procedures and processes are consistently followed across the business.
- Supporting a smooth transition from estimating through to project delivery.
About You:
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience within electrical estimating.
- Strong knowledge of electrical materials, labour requirements and project costing.
- Experience reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify project risks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Confidence using Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines.
