We are currently seeking experienced Mobile Plant Operators to join a short-term project at West Angelas, working within the MEM Workshop precinct on a range of civil and earthworks activities.
This is a great opportunity for operators with strong civil experience who are confident jumping across multiple pieces of mobile plant and working to a high standard on a Rio Tinto site.
About the Role
You will be involved in a range of earthworks and civil activities, including:
- Excavating and digging trenches
- Clearing and pushing
- Construction and remediation of windrows
- Load and haul operations
- Detailed earthworks and trimming
- Grading and levelling
- Backfilling and compacting
- General MEM Workshop civil works
- Remediation of existing tracks and windrows
The project scope includes works across Pads and existing MEM precinct infrastructure. The scope includes construction of new windrows, drainage, trenching, grading and levelling.
Plant & Equipment
Operators are required to operate a range of equipment, including:
Site: West Angelas – MEM Workshop
Pay Rates: Up to $67 per hour
Commencement: Project starting mid October
Duration: 2 months at this stage
Roster: 2/1
Paid Hours: 11.5 hours per day
Pay Run: Weekly
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience operating mobile plant in civil, mining or earthworks environments
- Relevant RIIMPO machine tickets
- Ability to confidently operate multiple types of plant
- Strong understanding of earthworks, levels, trimming and windrow construction
- Commitment to secure work practices and site procedures
- Rio Tinto experience/inductions highly regarded
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
