Our client seeks a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join their team in Karratha As an Instrumentation Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, installing, calibrating and troubleshooting instrumentation systems and equipment. This position is essential to ensuring the secure and efficient operation of our facilities and the accuracy of our measurement and control systems.

On offer is a 2 and 1 offer from Perth, initially a 6 month contract
Key responsibilities

- Install, maintain and repair instrumentation equipment including pressure gauges, flow meters, temperature sensors and control systems
- Perform routine calibration and testing of instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards
- Diagnose and troubleshoot instrumentation faults and failures, implementing corrective actions promptly
- Conduct preventative maintenance programmes to minimise equipment downtime and extend asset life
- Document all maintenance, repairs and calibration work in accordance with company procedures and relevant regulations
- Respond to emergency calls and provide technical support as required
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure instrumentation systems support production objectives
- Adhere to all health, safety and environmental protocols on site

What you will bring:

- Trade qualifications or formal training in instrumentation, electrical engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience working as an Instrumentation Technician in industrial or operational environments
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems, control loops, and measurement principles
- Competency in reading technical drawings, schematics and instrument manuals




- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the Karratha region as required
- Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance
- Experience in the oil, gas, mining or manufacturing sectors would be advantageous
- Rio Tinto Iron Ore Essentials/Perth Regional Hub Essentials
- Rio Tinto Lock-holders
- Rio Tinto Personal Isolation
- Rio Tinto SW Supervised Worker (Desirable).
- Rio Tinto Electrical Workers Competency
- Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment
- Current HLTAID003 Provide First Aid certificate
- Current HLTAID001 Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation certificate (within previous 12 months).
- EEHA Qualifications (Desirable).
- EWP and High Risk Qualifications (Desirable).
