The Role

As Head Chef, you’ll own the Astra kitchen — the menu, the standards, the people. This is a genuine leadership role with real scope to shape the direction of Japanese-inspired fine dining on the Central Coast, and to grow your career within a global hotel brand as you do it.

What you’ll actually be doing

- Lead the Astra kitchen team through every service, from prep to pass
- Own and evolve the Japanese-inspired menu, season by season
- Set the standard for consistency, presentation and quality on every plate
- Manage food cost, ordering and supplier relationships
- Train, mentor and build a kitchen team that people want to work in




- Partner with our Astra Venue Manager to bring the Astra vision to life
- Keep the kitchen safe and compliant — WHS, food safety and HACCP, done properly

What you’ll bring

- Proven experience as a Head Chef or an experienced Sous Chef ready to make their mark in a high-end or fine dining kitchen
- A genuine capability in Japanese cuisine and technique – and the hunger to keep learning and growing this
- Leadership that builds teams, not just menus
- A relevant trade qualification and food safety certification
- The drive to make Astra the Central Coast’s must-visit restaurant
