The Opportunity

McGloin Baker is seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join our team and support the delivery of two significant civil infrastructure projects in the Northern Rivers.

The role will work across a large urban civil project in Lismore and a water main upgrade in Kyogle. It offers a minimum 12-month contract and would suit an accomplished civil construction professional who can confidently lead project delivery, build robust stakeholder relationships and maintain control of program, cost, safety and quality.

The Role

Working closely with the broader project delivery team, you will be responsible for leading the projects from mobilisation through to completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing overall leadership and direction across project delivery

- Managing project programs, budgets, forecasts and commercial performance

- Coordinating project engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and suppliers

- Monitoring progress against key milestones and proactively addressing delays

- Managing procurement, subcontractor packages and project resources

- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, authorities and other stakeholders

- Identifying and managing contractual, commercial and delivery risks

- Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and quality requirements

- Overseeing project documentation, reporting, variations and claims

- Supporting effective communication between the project team and senior management

- Driving practical solutions and maintaining high standards of project delivery

Requirements

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will require:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering





- At least eight years of civil construction experience following completion of your degree

- Demonstrated contractor-side project management experience

- Experience managing civil infrastructure projects through the full delivery lifecycle

- Strong capability across programming, cost control, forecasting, procurement and contract administration

- Proven experience leading project teams, subcontractors and site operations

- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify and manage project risk

- Confident communication and stakeholder-management skills

- The ability to work across project locations in Lismore and Kyogle

- Full Australian working rights

Experience delivering urban civil works will be highly regarded but is not essential. Candidates with strong experience across water infrastructure, utilities, roadworks, subdivisions, bulk earthworks, drainage or other complex civil projects are also encouraged to apply.
