Expression of Interest – Animal Care & Grounds Maintenance Opportunities

The Secret Garden is seeking expressions of interest from people who have experience, qualifications, or a genuine passion for:

Animal care and welfare

Grounds maintenance and property upkeep

Gardening, landscaping, horticulture or farm work

General maintenance and outdoor work

We are currently accepting EOI’s for employees to assist with maintaining our beautiful site and caring for the animals that call The Secret Garden home.

These roles are initially offered on a casual basis, with the potential for permanent employment in the future for the right person.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you have experience or qualifications in any of the following areas:

- Animal care, animal husbandry, veterinary assistance or farm work
- Grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping or horticulture
- Operating and maintaining ride-on lawn mowers, tractors and other outdoor equipment
- General property maintenance and handyman work
- Working safely in outdoor environments
- Supporting volunteers or working in community-focused settings





The Work May Include

- Feeding, watering and caring for animals
- Maintaining animal enclosures and monitoring animal wellbeing
- Mowing lawns and maintaining gardens and grounds
- Operating ride-on mowers, tractors and other machinery
- General repairs and maintenance across the site
- Assisting with volunteer activities and community events
- Helping to keep The Secret Garden safe, welcoming and well-presented

What You’ll Need

- Experience and/or qualifications in the area of interest (Mandatory)
- Current driver’s licence
- Ability to perform physically active outdoor work
- A strong commitment to safety
- Reliability, initiative and a positive attitude
