An established commercial and civil fencing contractor in Perth is expanding its installation crews and is looking for experienced, practical people to join the team.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
You will work on commercial, civil, security and infrastructure fencing projects across Perth and surrounding areas.
Depending on your experience, your responsibilities may include:
- Setting out fencing from plans and site layouts
- Measuring and marking out works
- Installing fencing posts and rails
- Installing chainmesh and security fencing
- Installing timber fencing and gates
- Using hand tools and power tools
- Operating small plant and equipment
- Working safely around underground services and civil infrastructure
- Loading, transporting and managing materials and equipment
- Completing site safety documentation
- Working with crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently
Experienced Team Leaders will also be responsible for leading an offsider, managing materials and equipment, liaising with site supervisors and taking responsibility for crew quality and productivity.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A FENCER
The company is open to experienced people from related trades and practical industries.
Your background could include:
Carpentry
Steel erection / structural steel
Boilermaking / fabrication
Civil construction
Construction / building
Roofing / cladding
Earthmoving / plant operation
General mechanical or installation trades
Fencing experience is an advantage, but it isn't essential.
What matters is that you are practical, physically capable, comfortable using tools and machinery, safety-conscious and able to learn.
THE RIGHT PERSON
We're looking for someone who:
Has solid practical/worksite experience
Is comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Is physically fit and capable of manual work
Can use tools confidently
Takes safety seriously
Can understand plans, drawings or site layouts
Can work independently and take responsibility
Is reliable and has a strong work ethic
Takes initiative and looks for solutions
Previous Leading Hand or crew supervision experience is highly regarded.
