About Us
At Synapse Neurology we provide comprehensive specialist care in our main rooms in Bundoora and also Albury and Echuca, for a range of neurological conditions such as stroke, headaches, migraines, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, nerve and muscle disorders as well as performing nerve conduction and Electromyography (EMG) studies and neurotoxin therapy.
Description
Our growing neurological practice requires a highly resourceful, energetic and competent medical receptionists to join our team in Bundoora. In this role, you will provide essential support to both our patients and healthcare team, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience in our clinic.
We are offering a Part Time/Job Share
Proposed days: Monday - Friday (hours to be discussed on application, flexibility to work until 5pm/close is desirable)
Desirable qualities: Previous employment in Private Practice / exposure to Neurology highly desired
Zedmed Software experience preferred, but not essential
Medical administration experience is essential. We are looking for someone outgoing who will strive to provide the highest standard of patient-centered administrative support. You will need a proven ability to deal with all aspects of front office duties and able to handle competing office demands professionally and efficiently.
The successful candidate will be up to date with the rules and regulations of a medical workplace, including strict client confidentiality laws and medico-legal regulations.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining busy phones and email enquiries as well as dealing with face-to-face enquiries.
- Receive and process incoming referrals. Print and organise referral documents. Accurately input referral information into Zedmed.
- Assistant to the Practice Manager and Doctor within the clinic
- Managing the practice email inboxes and diligently triaging correspondence
- Registering new patients at the clinic and accurately collecting information and personal details about patients
- Politely greeting patients and visitors to the practice
- Opening post and forwarding it onto the relevant parties
- Scanning, filing and all notes and patient record keeping, precise data entry
- Scheduling appointments for patients for all locations for appointments
- Cash handling, taking of EFTPOS/credit card payments, appointment billing, receipting off patient accounts. End of day takings reconciliation. Medicare transmissions and handling WorkCover/TAC insurance payments
- Liaising with third-party insurance companies, lawyers and release of medical information requests.
- Maintaining a clean reception area to show a professional image, and maintenance of office and treatment room cleanliness
- Liaising with couriers and delivery companies, unpacking office supplies and stock
Your competencies will include:
· Ability to prioritise and organise a heavy workload.
· General knowledge of office procedures and policies.
· Excellent IT literacy skills and ability to use Microsoft Office and Email applications
· Aware of the rules and regulations relating to medical documentation
