Position Purpose

n

The Catholic School is more than an educational institution. It is a key part of the Catholic Church - an essential element in the Church's mission. The Teacher assists the Principal, to demonstrate strong support for the vision and ministry of the Catholic school.

n

Teachers are supported in their role to be able to provide quality teaching in a stimulating and challenging environment where everyone is valued. This position isresponsible for all aspects of the planning, preparation and delivery of effective learning and teaching programs across the school.

The commencement date for this position will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

- An active Catholic with an appreciation of and commitment to Catholic life and practice.
n
- Four-year trained classification with relevant experience.
n
- Possession of, or willingness to obtain appropriate qualifications in accordance with Category E of the Framework for Accreditation of Staff in Catholic Schools.
n
- Demonstrated deep knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practices and 7-12 curriculum,



with a demonstrated ability to implement these practices to a very high standard in contemporary classrooms.
n
- Demonstrated highly effective leadership, collaboration, communication, organisation and time management skills.
n
- Proven ability to work positively with students and their parents/teachers on behaviour support matters.
n
- Demonstrated ability to develop staff at individual and whole school level and to build the leadership capacity of staff.
n
- Demonstrated capacity to build relationships with all groups in the school community.
n
- Evidence of relevant recent professional development related to Religious Education, Leadership, Curriculum and Student Care/Wellbeing.
n
- Proficient in the use of ICT.
n
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation and conflict resolution.
n
- Demonstrated effectiveness in leadership role/s in Catholic School/s.
