About the role

Apex Fab & Glass Pty Ltd is seeking a talented 3rd or 4th year apprentice light metal fabricator to join our growing team in Beresfield, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers an exceptional opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic manufacturing setting. As you progress through the final stages of your apprenticeship, you will work alongside experienced fabricators and tradespeople, gaining practical experience in light metal fabrication whilst completing your formal qualifications.

This role is pivotal in supporting our production team and developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople in the metalworking industry.

Key responsibilities

- Fabricating various products - mainly aluminium
- Operating and maintaining light metal fabrication equipment and tools safely and effectively
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy in fabrication work
- Following established safety protocols and workplace procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Preparing materials and workpieces for fabrication processes
- Assembling metal components and structures in accordance with design specifications
- Performing quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with standards
- Assisting senior fabricators with more complex fabrication tasks and projects
- Maintaining a clean and organised workspace
- Continuing to develop technical skills and knowledge in light metal fabrication techniques

What we're looking for

- Currently enrolled in or actively pursuing a 3rd or 4th year light metal fabrication apprenticeship
- Demonstrated commitment to completing your apprenticeship qualification
- Sound understanding of light metal fabrication techniques and processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Strong attention to detail and quality consciousness
- Competent use of hand tools and fabrication equipment




- A solid understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physical capability to perform manual fabrication work
- Reliability and a positive attitude towards learning and development
- Preferably some experience working in a light metal fabrication or manufacturing environment
