Accounts Officer

VE Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Officer to join our Ipswich-based team. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working across accounts payable, reconciliations, project costing and broader finance functions within a fast-paced, project-based environment.

About the Role

Working as part of our Corporate Services team, your responsibilities will include:

- Processing and reconciling high volumes of supplier invoices
- Managing accounts payable and assisting with debtor follow-up and account enquiries
- Completing bank and account reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Supporting month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
- Assisting with management reporting and financial information
- Supporting job costing, project accounting, purchase orders and cost allocation
- Liaising with suppliers, clients, project managers and internal stakeholders
- Identifying opportunities to improve and automate finance processes
- Providing general administrative support when required

About You

We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable or a similar finance role
- Robust knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations,



GST and general accounting principles
- Experience using Xero
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and financial record-keeping skills
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Confidence communicating with stakeholders across all levels of the business
- A proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously and solve problems
- A willingness to learn new systems and improve processes
- A professional and discreet approach to confidential financial information

Experience within civil construction, infrastructure, transport or another project-based environment would be highly regarded. Previous experience with payroll, job costing or project accounting will also be advantageous.
