About the role

As the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day supervision, mentoring and leadership of the Accounts Receivable team to ensure accurate and timely billing, effective debt management and exceptional service to clients. You will lead and oversee Private Billing, Medicare, DVA, Health Fund and Corporate billing, manage billing rejections and aged debt, and ensure departmental processes are compliant with company procedures. Reporting directly to the CFO and working with the wider Accounts team, you will identify opportunities for continuous improvement, optimise collections, minimise outstanding debt and contribute to the ongoing financial performance of the organisation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Lead the day-to-day operations and workflow of the Accounts Receivable Department and it's staff.
- Supervise, mentor, coach and train the Accounts Receivable team on best practice processes.
- Oversee accurate and timely Private, Medicare, DVA, Health Fund and Corporate billing and receipting.
- Manage billing rejections, monitor trends and implement strategies to minimise rejections.
- Oversee aged debtors and debt collection to maximise collections and minimise outstanding debt.
- Manage patient account queries and ensure a professional, timely and customer-focused service.
- Review, recommend and implement improvements to Accounts Receivable processes, protocols and workflows to enhance efficiency and financial performance.
- Work closely with the CFO and Accounts team to monitor performance, meet targets and drive continuous improvement.

To be successful you will have:

- 3+ years’ experience in medical billing and/or Accounts Receivable.
- Experience managing and leading teams to achieve outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing processes and experience with medical billing software.
- Sound knowledge of Medicare, DVA, Health Funds and relevant compliance requirements.




- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Receivable processes, including billing, receipting, rejections and debt collection.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to supervise, mentor and develop a team.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, prioritise workload and delegate effectively.
- Robust attention to detail, confidentiality and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, finance or business are desirable but not essential.
