Advisor Engagement (Aboriginal Targeted)

Grade: Service NSW Grade 7/8

Role Type: Aboriginal Targeted Role

Duration: Full time, temporary for 6 months

Location: Central Coast, Newcastle, or Hunter Region

Prerequisite: Applicants do not need to currently be employed at the Clerk Grade 7/8 level

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and community-focused Engagement Officer (based on the Central Coast, Newcastle or Hunter Region) to help Inform, deliver and shape the implementation of our Aboriginal Action Plan on the Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter Region for a Temporary 6 month role. You will play a key role in strengthening connections, fostering trust, and ensuring Aboriginal voices and perspectives inform our strategies, programs, and services.

Working collaboratively with internal teams, community representatives, and external agencies, you will design and deliver engagement initiatives that promote cultural understanding, increase participation, and support opportunities for Aboriginal people and businesses.

This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping shape how we engage with Aboriginal communities to Inform and support the successful delivery of our Aboriginal Action Plan. Your insights, relationships, and lived experience will be highly valued.

- A genuine commitment to supporting Aboriginal communities and strengthening relationships.
- Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders, community groups, businesses, and government or non-government organisations.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.




- The ability to develop and deliver engagement activities that inform, involve, and empower stakeholders.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work across multiple projects and priorities.
- Cultural awareness and an understanding of the importance of respectful and authentic engagement with Aboriginal people and communities.

Salary Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at 109,166 base plus superannuation.
