What happens when a payment moves across a border and the reconciliation step still runs on a human reading a ledger?

This is an intern building AI agents that operate payment infrastructure. The operating company is EX Fi — payment services provided by Gemba Finance Ltd, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN: 804853). The work here is real: you build agents that drive payment workflows, and you leave with the one proof employers hire on. Everyone has a degree. Almost nobody has proof.

What you build

You build tool-using agents over payment and account APIs. A reconciliation agent that matches inbound payments against expected settlements. The guardrails that keep an agent from executing a bad FX move. A test suite another person can run without you in the room. The world doesn't care about perfect answers. It cares about fast iteration.

The bar

You have shipped an LLM or agent project outside coursework, and you can name the failure mode that broke it. A working tool that calls an API and acts on the response. A reliability problem kept on the table until the output was clean. You drive Claude Code, Hermes, or Codex every day and catch what the AI gets wrong.

Who this is for

You work until the signal is clean. You treat a compliance edge case as a bug, not a footnote. The map is dead. The time for being told what to do is over.

Where you do it — and why here

Thirty years building companies — New York, London, Tokyo, the Valley — and then it stopped mattering where the work happened. So the group runs this from Canggu. A contemporary company costs twelve people and a toolchain — so being wrong six times a year is part of how we build. What this location buys is attention, not a view. The campus is 4,000 sqm, and the people who run the companies are on it every day.

What happens after

Seventeen interns have moved into full-time roles across the group — Bali, Spain, Germany. The path from here is Melbourne, where the operating company has a presence. Terms set before you commit, never after. There are not levels. There are different games.

Terms

Unpaid under Indonesian law. A room is available on campus — rent paid by you. Epic Solutions PT hosts the on-site program and assists with the C22B internship visa process; the visa fee is yours. Daily lunch on us. Starting September.

Requirements A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field — you have proven you can finish something. Not the ability to know things. The ability to learn things quickly.
