Company Description The Primrose Clinic is a telehealth psychiatry service founded by two psychiatrists and mothers. We provide compassionate, holistic, evidence-based mental health care for women, children, adolescents and adults across Australia, with particular expertise in perinatal, reproductive and midlife mental health.
We work collaboratively with our team of independent practitioners to deliver thoughtful, person-centred care that recognises the realities of family life, work pressures and the limitations of traditional models.
Role Description
This is a remote contract role for an AHPRA-registered General Practitioner to join Primrose Clinic as our in-house GP, with a special interest in women’s and children’s mental health, ADHD and holistic care.
You will work alongside our psychiatrists and clinical team. You set your own consulting hours and fee structure. Full administrative support is provided so you can focus on clinical work.
In this role you continue to practise the full scope of general practice within a mental health setting. This includes:
- Comprehensive physical health assessments for patients with mental health conditions
- Management of common general practice presentations in the context of mental health disorders (e.g. sleep disturbance, fatigue, medication and lifestyle-related risk factors)
- Women’s and children’s health, including hormonal health (e.g. perimenopause, PMDD, postpartum), reproductive mental health, and paediatric/adolescent mental health interfaces
- ADHD-related physical health care, including baseline and ongoing monitoring (e.g. cardiovascular risk, growth and development in young people, metabolic parameters)
- Lifestyle and holistic support, including sleep, nutrition, exercise, substance use, and stress management, integrated with psychological and psychiatric care
We have a steady stream of patients specifically seeking women’s mental health expertise. We refer patients to you for areas of shared interest and can provide structured support if you wish to further develop your skills in ADHD assessment and management.
Longer consultation times are available, supporting thorough, thoughtful care and allowing you to structure your practice in a way that reflects the value of your clinical time and professional judgement.
This role is designed for GPs who want greater autonomy, more sustainable working patterns, and the space to practise medicine in a considered, holistic way — with reliable administrative and clinical support.
Qualifications
- Current AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner with unrestricted right to practise in Australia
- Demonstrated experience or robust interest in women’s mental health (including perinatal, reproductive and midlife)
- Experience or interest in child and adolescent mental health and ADHD
- Comfortable providing high-quality telehealth care
- Ability to develop evidence-based, holistic treatment plans
- Collaborative approach and willingness to work closely with psychiatrists and the wider clinical team
- Strong clinical documentation and organisational skills
