Your Role

As a Gensler Architect focusing on Sports, you will combine creativity and technical knowledge to help deliver innovative sports and entertainment projects. Working as part of a highly creative and collaborative team, you will support projects from concept design through documentation and construction.

In this position, you will collaborate with Project Architects, Design Managers and Design Directors on a variety of exciting sports developments. You will contribute to design development, produce high-quality technical documentation and coordinate with internal teams, consultants and contractors to help bring design ideas to life.

This is a great opportunity for an Architect with 3–5 years of experience who is technically proficient, enjoys collaborative problem solving and wants to develop their career in Sports design.

This position will be based in Melbourne.

What You Will Do

- Work as an integral part of the design team to develop cohesive and technically sound design solutions that respond to the project brief.
- Support projects through design development, documentation and construction phases.
- Coordinate project documentation with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, civil and other consultants.
- Produce drawings, specifications and other technical documentation with a high level of accuracy and quality.
- Work closely with Project Architects, Design Managers and Design Directors to maintain design intent throughout project delivery.
- Assist in resolving technical and design issues to develop practical and constructible solutions.
- Review drawings for compliance with relevant building codes, standards and project requirements.
- Support construction administration activities, including submittals, RFIs and substitution requests.




- Participate in site observations and document site reviews during construction.
- Communicate effectively with project team members, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of creative solutions for sports and entertainment environments.
- Participate in office activities, initiatives and learning programs.

Your Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent recognised qualification.
- 3–5 years of relevant architectural experience, ideally including exposure to sports, stadium, training facility, entertainment or other large-scale complex projects.
- Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with 3D modelling, visualisation and graphic software.
- Experience contributing to projects through design development and construction documentation.
- Good understanding of how buildings are constructed and the ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, construction methods and building systems.
- Strong design and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to contribute to multiple project activities and deadlines.
- A passion for Sports design and an interest in developing deeper expertise in sports and entertainment projects.
