Job Description
Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic APPRENTICE

We are seeking motivated Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic Apprentices to join our growing team at Molendinar. If you're passionate about trucks, eager to learn, and ready to build a long-term career in the automotive industry, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
n
As an apprentice, you will receive hands‐on training while supporting our qualified mechanics with:
n
n
- Routine servicing & inspections: Oil changes, brake checks, tyre rotations, and basic fleet servicing.
n
- Diagnostics support: Assisting with identifying mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
n
- Repairs: Helping repair engines, gearboxes, driveline components, steering and suspension systems.
n
- Workshop duties: Tool setup, cleaning work areas, record keeping, and general workshop assistance.
n
- Safety procedures: Following safe work practices and learning compliance requirements.
n
- Customer service assistance: Supporting the team in delivering high-quality service to customers.
n
n
What You Will Learn::

As part of your apprenticeship, you will gain experience in:

- Heavy-duty truck maintenance and repairs

- Electrical and hydraulic systems

- Welding and fabrication basics

- Diagnostic tools and software

- Fleet servicing practices and OEM standards

- Workshop operations and safety compliance

Qualifications:
n
To be successful, you will have:
n
n
- A genuine interest in diesel engines, trucks, and mechanical work
n
- Strong willingness to learn and develop hands‐on skills
n
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
n
- Attention to detail and pride in neat, accurate work
n
- Reliability, punctuality, and a proactive work ethic
n
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
n
- Driver's licence: Minimum learner or provisional (C class)
n
n
Not required but beneficial:
n
n
- Any previous mechanical, automotive, or workshop experience
n
- Completed or partially completed pre‐apprenticeship or Cert II Automotive
n
- Full support to complete your Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology qualification
n
- Paid full‐time apprenticeship
n
- 4 weeks annual leave
n
- Superannuation paid on all hours worked
