About This Role

- Provide leadership, motivation and management to the CCS Recruitment team, supporting the business in end-to-end recruitment delivery.
- Fixed term, Full time opportunity (Secondment backfill until 12 October 2027).
- VPS5 - $116,413 - $140,849 plus superannuation.

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Assistant Manager, Talent Partnerships (CCS) to provide a critical role within the Recruitment Services Team.

People Safety and Culture exists to support the department's most key asset - the workforce. We do this through expert management of human resources, payroll, recruitment, occupational health and safety, industrial relations, workforce planning, transformation and employment regulations.

We also deliver a range of support functions including accommodation, fleet, records management, Enterprise Project Management and maintenance of the Project Management Excellence Framework.

The Recruitment Services branch within PSC provides expert advice and support to the department on all recruitment related matters, including attraction, selection, redeployment and other recruitment and retention practices. Working within the Department of Justice and Community Safety's (the department) strategic objective of “building a high performing justice system”, Recruitment Services delivers consultative, progressive, innovative, fair and ethical recruitment solutions.

About The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Talent and Executive Recruitment, the Assistant Managers responsibilities include Management of a small but dynamic team of Talent Business Partners, undertaking all recruitment activities ranging from sourcing, screening, short-listing, interviewing, reference checking, offer management and outcome advice. Additionally, demonstrated capability in the design, implementation and training of best practice recruitment processes is required.

Talent Partnerships (CCS) will support the business in end-to-end recruitment delivery with workloads spread evenly across the team.

The Assistant

Manager works closely with stakeholders to understand their business and what is required for current and future success. It is expected that Assistant Managers hold current and detailed knowledge of the labour market, the economy and political landscape for the department and demonstrate a breadth of Human Resource capability.

Some Of Your Duties Will Include

- Provide leadership, motivation and management to the CCS Recruitment team to deliver innovative, accurate and timely recruitment services in a high output environment; including creating and reviewing position descriptions, developing and implementing attraction and recruitment strategies, screening, short listing, interviewing, reference checking, probity checking, offer negotiation and candidate feedback.
- Use expert understanding of the business and required candidate skill set to ensure recruitment processes are conducted in a fair, equitable and merit-based manner, and that appropriate selection decisions are made.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior managers and other key senior stakeholders to ensure seamless recruitment service delivery.

- Demonstrated understanding of the current labour market including the complexity of competing for talent, the ageing the population, skill shortages and the changing nature of the workforce. Understands economic, social,



and political levels for labour trends and develops recruitment strategies accordingly.
- Subject matter knowledge and professional experience in designing, implementing and coordinating various recruitment selection tools and methodologies (such as end-to-end recruitment, volume recruitment, project recruitment, diversity inclusion programs).

Qualifications/requirements

- A qualification in Human Resources / Management (or equivalent) is highly regarded, although not essential.
