Our client is a well established New South Wales law firm with a strong reputation across commercial, property, litigation and estate work. Operating for more than three decades, the firm has built a loyal client base and is now expanding its family law offering in the Sutherland Shire.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity for a mid level to senior family lawyer to join a firm that takes a considered, client focused approach to relationship breakdown, preferring practical negotiated outcomes while remaining ready to advocate firmly for clients in court when needed. You will manage your own caseload with a high degree of autonomy, supported by a collegiate and experienced team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload spanning financial and property settlements, parenting applications and parenting plans
- Advise on divorce and de facto relationship matters, spousal maintenance and child support
- Prepare binding financial agreements and consent orders
- Represent clients in mediation, arbitration and, where required, court proceedings, including matters involving domestic violence
- Provide clear, practical advice to clients on their rights, entitlements and obligations, particularly during the early, sensitive stages of separation
- Build and manage direct client relationships with increasing autonomy over time
About You
- Admitted as a solicitor in NSW with a current practising certificate
- Mid level to senior post admission experience gained primarily in family law (more senior candidates with your own following of work are encouraged to apply)
- Strong technical knowledge across property settlement, parenting matters and financial agreements
- A calm, empathetic approach balanced with sound commercial and strategic judgement
- Confident advocate, comfortable in negotiation, mediation and court settings
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team environment
