About you
We are looking for an Associate/Senior Associate (ideally 4-8 years PQE) to join our Sydney or Melbourne Corporate team supporting our Partners Clare Miller and Jeremy Smith.
To be successful and thrive in this role you will have the following skills
- preferably, at least 4-8 years’ experience in a well-regarded corporate practice, with robust experience in corporate transactions within the real estate sector;
- you will have a solid understanding of corporate real estate deal structures and familiarity with the real estate market and clients;
- excellent drafting skills and hands-on experience, ideally involving share and asset purchase agreements, securityholder agreements, stamp duty, FIRB applications and advice, stapled structures, joint venture and co-investment arrangements;
- a strong commercial awareness with the ability to produce high-quality work product;
- a genuine interest in building and maintaining lasting client relationships and mentoring the junior members of the team;
- excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage competing priorities and workstreams;
- an ability to communicate effectively and professionally (written and verbal) and mentor and supervise other team members; and
- the ideal candidate should have a familiarity with traditional property land title, planning and environmental frameworks, but the candidate is not expected to have hands-on real estate due diligence or real estate conveyancing experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for a practitioner who thrives at the intersection of corporate transactions and property — advising on real estate M&A;, fund formations, joint ventures and co-investment/alternative structuring arrangements, REIT transactions, and asset-level acquisitions and disposals within a corporate framework.
You will join a highly regarded national team where there will be opportunities for you to develop your expertise, build your profile in the market, mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the growth of the practice.
Your role
Working closely with a team of prominent corporate partners,
this role will see you working on a broad range of corporate transactions. The role will give the candidate an opportunity to work on high-profile, marking leading corporate transactions within the real estate sector and the successful candidate will be given access to a broad and established client network across the real estate and corporate sectors.
You will interact with clients directly and negotiate a wide range of complex structures and transaction documents with access to partners in an open and team-oriented working environment.
