Role Description The Banquet Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the delivery of exceptional banquet and event service, ensuring guests experience seamless and memorable occasions. This full-time, on-site role, located in Sydney, NSW, includes supervising banquet staff, coordinating room setups, managing event timelines, and maintaining high service standards throughout functions. The role involves close collaboration with kitchen and events teams to confirm menus, schedules, and special requirements, as well as monitoring inventory, equipment, and presentation.

Leader trains and coaches team members, supports roster planning, and helps resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally. Administrative tasks such as maintaining service records, following safety and hygiene protocols, and supporting continuous improvement in banquet operations are also part of the day-to-day responsibilities.

Qualifications

- Experience in banquet operations or event service leadership, including supervising teams and coordinating functions.
- Solid guest service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholder needs.
- Proficiency in organizing event setups, time management, and attention to detail in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service standards, safe handling practices, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to train, coach, and motivate team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work culture.
- Comfort with basic administrative tasks, such as shift scheduling, event reporting, and using hotel systems or POS platforms.
- Previous experience in upscale hotels or luxury hospitality settings is highly regarded.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays; relevant hospitality or events qualifications are an advantage.
