Role Description This is a full time, on-site Behaviour Support Practitioner role based in Queensland, Australia. The practitioner will work directly with individuals, their families, and support networks to conduct functional behaviour assessments, develop evidence-informed behaviour support plans, and support their implementation across home and community settings. Day-to-day tasks include observing and analysing behaviours, consulting with multidisciplinary team members, providing coaching and training to support staff and caregivers, and ensuring practice is aligned with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.

The role also involves documenting progress, maintaining accurate clinical records, participating in case conferences,



and contributing to continuous improvement of services.

Qualifications

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Behavioural Science, or a related allied health discipline.
- Experience in Positive Behaviour Support, including conducting functional behaviour assessments and developing and reviewing behaviour support plans.
- Knowledge of the NDIS framework, disability support practices, and trauma-informed, person-centered approaches.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build respectful relationships with participants, families, and support teams.
- Skills in report writing, documentation, and maintaining accurate, confidential clinical records.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and to provide training, coaching, and guidance to support staff.
- Sound problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with capacity to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Current registration or eligibility with relevant professional bodies (where applicable), NDIS Worker Screening clearance, and a valid driver’s license.
- Previous experience in disability services, community health, or mental health settings is highly regarded.
