About the role

These two roles play a critical part in ensuring Sydney Water meets its operational resilience objectives and continues to deliver essential drinking water and wastewater services during disruptions. As part of the Enterprise Incident Advisory team, you will also support and coach Incident Controllers in the management of enterprise-wide incidents.

We are seeking individuals who excel in dynamic roles that combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. In this position, you will help drive Sydney Water’s Business Resilience and Emergency Management programs, contributing to the organisation’s preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities. The role includes participation in a 24/7 on-call roster.

Success in this role requires the ability to design, deliver, and facilitate all stages of the resilience lifecycle. This includes developing and conducting training and exercises, facilitating post-incident reviews and debriefs, and preparing executive-level reporting. You will work closely with a broad range of stakeholders, including emergency service agencies, internal operational teams, and business leaders, while helping strengthen Sydney Water’s resilience capabilities across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

- Deliver activities, programs and small uplift projects that enhance enterprise-wide business resilience .
- Collaborate with cross-functional and operational teams to identify and address overlaps, gaps, conflicts, and inconsistencies in resilience processes.
- Coordinate resilience risk management processes, including business impact, business continuity, threat and vulnerability assessments, and risk assessments.
- Provide specialist advice to senior managers as part of the Enterprise Incident Advisory team or
- Provide insights and analysis on emerging threats, trends, and risks to operational continuity.
- Coordinate the development of business continuity plans and all hazards threat escalation triggers to mitigate potential disruptions.
- Develop and deliver training programs to raise awareness, enhance resilience capabilities, and promote a resilient organisational culture.

About You The ideal candidates will have experience delivering resilience programs within critical infrastructure environments,



including hazard and threat monitoring, incident notification and escalation processes, business continuity management, and activities related to the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) Act. To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Proven ability to work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at strategic, operational and tactical level
- Strong communication and writing skills, attention to detail & tech savvy – you might be writing BCPs, training packs or internal communications or designing sharepoints, intranets or analysing data to inform decision making
- Familiarity with industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends in resilience and crisis management.
- Coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop others. Experience in facilitation or delivering training. Knowledge of the AiiMs model is preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
- Knowledge of reputation, cyber and digital threats and approaches within a critical infrastructure environment preferred.
- You might have experience in a voluntary capacity outside of Sydney Water in emergency response or preparedness. Member of the BCI or equivalent
